A new race for the "Forrests"

So today was the 87th edition of the Jean Bouin, a race run in Barcelona since 1920! Off we went to Barcelona. Got there 5 minutes before race started but we did walk 2.5k to get there so that was our warmup! Bid farewell and got ready to get started. I went to the back of the pack and to my surprise I saw my friend Maria and we run together the full race. It was great since she "pulled" me along. I did 40" per km faster than my last run on Tuesday... it was awesome and wanted more :P My brother broke 49' and did 48:17. He's a champ! I finished in 1:08:33... a minute and a half faster than my last race 3 weeks ago... happy!

Next race for the Forrest siblings is on Dec. 19th, a 5k in Lloret. Also running a 10K on Jan. 23rd and our beloved Bombers on April 10th!

More to come as we run races!

The Forrest Brothers Team is running again on Sunday!

Woohoo! It's been a while and although I haven't been training properly or training at all, we're racing on Sunday! It's the Jean Bouin, the 87th edition I think! This was my first race last year, so it will be my race-bday, go me! I know I won't do very well but I'm going and I'm doing it! My brother will try to break 49' and he can do it! He's amazing. He hardly trains, maybe once a week or once every 2 weeks still he's great!

So, more on Sunday after the race!

32 Cros de Sants

So the Forrest team, my brother Dani and I run yesterday in Barcelona. Lovely race with lots of hills but great weather. A tiny event, very well organized!

Dani run a PB of 49:18 and he hadn't run for 2 weeks... amazing... he's a champ! And I finished, which was my aim as I had been stopped for so long (over a month) with the dyshidrosis on my foot. I was able to run the full distance and finished in 1:09:55, not bad for this old woman! Hoping to be able to run all my scheduled runs in november. Next race is Nov. 21, I can improve that time. Hopefully my foot will respect me (and my full body) and I'll be able to run it too!
